Wick Speculative Offices

Construction of two speculative office buildings

Project Duration: 8 months (from receipt of brief)
Completion date: May 2007
Overall Project Cost: £1.7m

Project Description:

Construction of two speculative office buildings each sub-divided into two units with a shared service core. The building was clad in local Caithness stone and incorporated large areas of glazing. The project brief required the design to be built on two separate sites with all associated services and parking facilities and incorporated rainwater harvesting and a micro-renewables package.
The project started with a pre-existing design from the Client which needed to be adapted to meet current Building regulations. This process and obtaining the necessary consents was completed along with the construction within the overall 8 month period established by the client as a project priority at the outset.
