Synergie sponsors the development of Rugby in the Highlands
Project aimed at local Inverness Schools
“The sponsorship from TULLOCH HOMES & SYNERGIE SCOTLAND together with the SPORTSMATCH award now means that we can take forward the proposal to appoint a full time club development officer at Highland RFC. This appointment will be key to encouraging more youngsters to take part in rugby football at both the club and in local Inverness Schools.” Ronnie Kelly, Highland RFC President
“Synergie Scotland are proud to support Highland RFC in such a worthwhile project to help develop the game of rugby in the Highlands.” Uisdean Fraser, Director, Synergie Scotland.
David Sutherland, chairman of Tulloch Homes, said: “We’ve invested heavily in sponsoring Highland sport such as football, shinty, athletics, Highland Games and school age sports activities. We believe in developing young people’s recreational opportunities and are thus delighted to contribute towards helping rugby development both at club level and in the community”
Louise Martin, Chair sportscotland said: “Highland Rugby Football Club is one of more than 1,600 sports groups throughout Scotland to have benefited from over £4.4m of SPORTSMATCH investment in grassroots sport. Our thanks go to Tulloch Homes and Synergie Scotland for this sponsorship. This is a great example of how businesses working in partnership with sporting organisations and SPORTSMATCH can make a significant contribution to community sport, enhancing the lives of many young people in Scotland.”
SPORTSMATCH is an award scheme set up in 1992 that aims to support commercial sponsorship of grassroots sports projects that encourage participation at community level, especially youth groups, girls and women, and those facing barriers to participation. In Scotland, SPORTSMATCH is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by sportscotland.
