Synergie Expands Their Expertise Across Scotland
Cost Management added to their portfolio of services in addition to the expansion of the Environ Division
John Bretherton joins Synergie in the Edinburgh Office as an Associate leading the Cost Management side of the company. He previously worked in a senior role within the Commercial Team in Scottish Water Solutions, which delivered the major part of their £400m per year Capital Investment Programme. Here he developed significant experience in NEC Framework Procurement and the management of complex multi-partner projects. Prior to this John was Head of Quantity Surveying in a multidisciplinary practice in Saudi Arabia. “I look forward to the opportunity to develop a brand new Cost Management function delivering Mainstream Quantity Surveying Services alongside and allied to the wide array of cutting edge Services provided by Synergie across it’s multidisciplinary portfolio. Of particular personal interest is the opportunity to learn more about the Environmental Services that Synergie are taking an International lead in and to make a positive contribution to this part from a Cost Management perspective.” Said John Bretherton.
Willie Forbes joins the company at their Headquarters in Inverness as Senior Quantity Surveyor, having practiced throughout Scotland in this role in both the private and public sector. He has significant experience in a wide variety of construction and engineering projects and said “I am impressed with the company’s imaginative approach to construction projects and with its vision for the future. I am pleased to now be part of Synergie and look forward to providing a Cost Management service that aims to meet the needs of our Clients which will help grow the company further.”
With the rapidly expanding Environ Division John MacBean also joins the company at their Headquarters in Inverness as Energy Specialist. As an Electronic Engineer, who has owned his own business specialising in energy management systems, John also worked in a Senior Role within Scottish Hydro Electric. He was responsible for designing and supervising the installation and commissioning of all types of heating systems for domestic and commercial properties, in addition to also managing the company’s energy efficiency policy in the North East, overseeing a team who carried out air tightness testing, building rating and energy efficiency advice. Prior to joining Synergie he was Engineering Manager for Cairngorm Mountain.
Following his move from the Business Environmental Partnership, Guy Robertson, joins Synergie as a Senior Environmental Consultant, in the Aberdeen Office and brings with him extensive experience in the oil and gas, public, food, tourism and waste management sectors and is a highly experienced and respected professional in a wide range of environmental disciplines, including ecology and environmental systems, sustainability policy, resource efficiency, and environmental and low carbon technologies. Guy said “I joined Synergie as I believe they employ just the right mix of experienced specialists in-house, and are one of very few local consultancies to have good hands-on experience in the emerging fields of intelligent and low carbon energy and resource management. I like the idea that I can rely on a team of experienced people who can work together to provide tailored and workable solutions, rather than contracting out or relying on “off-the-shelf” technologies. When you’re problem-solving in environmental management much of the ‘technology’ is in fact strategy, approach and intellectual property, and at Synergie that’s the key strength of the business.”
