Synergie acquire controlling interest in Mirspot

Mirspot specialises in the provision of localised data collection, analysis and modelling for renewable energy choices, personalised to customer’s specific circumstances, rather than a generalised one-size-fits-all. This is achieved through a three-stage process: meteorological data acquisition; computerised energy modelling and finally matching results to available technology. Additional Mirspot services include thermal testing of boreholes for ground source heat pumps, currently the only UK based company to do so, and consulting services, including start-to-finish project management and fulfilment for sustainable energy installation projects.

Mirspot is currently working with clients such as CHAP Homes in Aberdeenshire to ensure that their development meet the requirement of PAN 84, which stipulates that “development plans should set out local policies on the provision of on-site low carbon and renewable sources of energy in new development. Policies should ensure that, in all instances, opportunities for incorporating these technologies are fully explored by developers as part of the planning application process.”

Director Dr Alan Owen said, “ This is a very exciting development in Mirspot’s commercialisation strategy. The appointment of two new influential directors linked with a highly regarded company such as Synergie Scotland will give Mirspot a strong position in the market. The surge of interest in sustainable energy driven by recent energy prices means that the market for Mirspot’s products is now much larger than was envisaged, even 2 years ago.”
